Who are we

With the purpose of adapting the basic principle of the EU, concerning the free movement of people, goods and services within the maritime and naviguable areas, seas and rivers, by standardisation of the criteria of construction and the circulation of pleasure boats, as well as the qualifications of the users of the afore-mentioned vessels, Euromarina was founded, as a non profit association, under the French 1901 association law.

Euromarina actions are focussed on:

• Representing and defending the general interests of the marinas througout Europe

• Setting up previliged relationships with the EC, leading to the harmonisation of legislation aplicable to marinas and the recreational navigation in Europe.

• Promoting the development of high quality port installations and equipment and the practice of leisure navigation in Europe.

• Optimising and improving the port management, services and security of installations and their users

• Implementing management policies geared to protect the marine environment

• Exchange of technical, legal, economic and management information between associated members and marinas

Euromarina is the sole European Federation within the whole of the EU territory to represent the general interest for owners, managers, operators of marinas, boatyards, slipways, berthing and mooring and other storage facilities and sailing and cruising boating clubs.

Euromarina is a different organisation from any other because it is entirely about marina matters; it concentrates on issues to do with day to day marina business and planning for the future. Members may get advice and tips on issues as governance, the environment, training, risk management, emergency procedures and optimising the management of their resources.

Euromarina is manages by an exutive committee (Board of directors), integrated by one President, three Vicepresidents, one General Secretary and treasurer, all of them elected by the General Assembly, for a period of four years and a full time Assistant to the Board.
